Hey Patriot, we might actually agree on something for once.....

common practice has dictated something along the lines of not caving in to the terrorists demands thereby stating that the terrorists actions are in vain and are not going to produce the change they are seeking....

I'd have to vote no...but then again as Patriot stated and if the person kidnapped was oneself....then maybe bow to the demands and get me free, then go back to regular policy once I'm far enough away and can safely give my kidnappers the finger....

In the Phillipine hostage case it was a good move for the token 50 Phillipino's to get out a month early than previous planned to save the guys life.
